What Is FASD

What is FASD? Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), is the medical term for a complex range of brain injuries, birth defects and developmental disabilities caused by prenatal alcohol exposure.

FASD is a lifelong condition with no cure: a child with FASD grows up to be an adult with FASD. These individuals may require extensive support and services related to health, mental health, social services, education and training, justice, addictions, and family supports throughout their lives.
