Support & Services

A comprehensive, tightly woven system of supports

Individuals with FASDs deserve respect, understanding and opportunities to succeed. Throughout their lives, they may also require services related to health, mental health, social services, education and training, justice, addictions and family supports.

As champions of advocacy and support for individuals with FASDs and their caregivers, the South Alberta FASD Network funds and coordinates services and programs that enhance quality of life for those affected by FASDs. In our role as a service coordinator and funding organization, the South Alberta FASD Network pursues the following objectives:

  • Provide leadership to develop a continuum of coordinated services in four categories: awareness; targeted and indicated prevention; assessment and diagnosis; and supports for individuals and caregivers.
  • Ensure services and programs reflect local priorities, resources and needs.
  • Ensure services and programs align with provincial objectives and strategic directions as outlined in the Government of Alberta‚Äôs 10-Year FASD Strategic Plan.
  • Meet criteria for contract management, planning, reporting and financial management outlined by the FASD-CMC and other program funders.
